The word used for "death" in the Aramaic language—the language of the Bible—literally translated means "not here, present elsewhere." In most ancient cultures, the border between life and death is highly permeable. This natural transition is not feared, but rather welcomed as an opportunity to liberate oneself from endless unconscious cycles of repeating life patterns.

Death—the inevitable ending of each life event—is something that we experience in every moment of our lives.

Strange fruit hanging from poplar trees...
I like the colors in this picture.

Wow very complex but its great. The colors angle and people within the shot are uncaring it seems not realizing that it happens to all eventually. The sings seems to point to choices and the empty bench has no observers. Fantastic detail.

Beautiful piece! I really love it! It really does make me think of Strange Fruit... That song always chokes me up...

A little note on your note. Aramaic would more closely be related to the language of Babylon since the only books of the bible that were written in Aramaic were those that were written while the Israelites were under Babylonian rule. The rest was written in Hebrew and in Greek. See [link] if you give a fuck and wanna know more.

That was cool to know about the Aramaic word for death though, was the word you were referring to Mapiqta?

"Who are these people? These faces? Where did they come from? They look like caricatures of used car dealers from Dallas, and sweet Jesus, there are a hell of a lot of them at 4:30 on a Sunday morning. Still humping the American dream. "
