Last Stop

Description

Wasting my time,
Resting my mind
And I'll never pine
For the sad days and the bad days
When we were workin' from nine to five.

pine

If you pine for someone, you desperately want to see them, be with them, or perhaps smother them with kisses. If you're texting your ex over 50 times a day, there's a pretty good chance that you still pine for him
In Old English, pine meant "to torture or cause to experience pain," which seems quite fitting if you've known what it's like to pine for something or someone.

And if you don't mind
I'll spend my time
Here by the fire side
In the warm light and the love in her eyes.

Life is like a train ride. You get on. You ride. You get off. There are accidents and there are delays. At certain stops, there are surprises. Some of these will translate into great moments of joy; some will result in profound sorrow.

When one is born and he first board the train, meet people whom he thinks will be there for the entire journey. Those people are his parents. Sadly, this is far from the truth. Parents are with you for as long as you absolutely need them. They too have journeys they must complete. We live with the memories of their love, affection, friendship, guidance, and their ever presence.

There are others who board the train and who eventually become very important. These people are brothers, sisters, friends, and acquaintances, whom you learn to love and cherish.

Some people consider their journey like a jaunty tour. They will just go merrily along. Others will encounter many upsets, tears, losses on their journey. Others still, will linger on to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Some people on the train will leave an everlasting impression when they get off. Some will get on and get off the train so quickly, they will scarcely leave a sign they ever traveled along with you or ever crossed your path.

If I were a swan, I'd be gone.
If I were a train, I'd be late.
And if I were a good man,
I'd talk with you
More often than I do.

You will sometimes be upset that some passengers, whom you love, will choose to sit in another compartment and leave you to travel on your own. Then again, there is nothing saying you cannot seek them out anyway. Nevertheless, once sought out and found, you may not even be able to sit next to them because the seat may already be taken.

That is okay, everyone's journey will be filled with hopes, dreams, challenges, setback, and goodbyes. One must strive to make the best of it, no matter what. One must constantly strive to understand his travel companions and look for the best in everyone.

At any moment during the journey any one of your travel companions can have a weak moment and be in need of help. You too may vacillate or hesitate, even trip; hopefully you can count on someone being there to be supportive and understanding.

The bigger mystery of the journey is that you do not know when the last stop will come. Neither do one knows when his travel companions will make their last stop. Not even those sitting on the seat next to him.

Personally, I know I will be happy to make my final stop.
