Artist's Comments

The term "missionary position" is generally used as slang for the heterosexual intercourse position in which a man is on top of a woman and they are face-to-face. In the missionary position, the woman lies on her back and the man supports himself with his arms on top of her and with his legs between hers. Though Christian missionaries didn't invent this position (evidence of it exists in art that long predates the Christian era), they were the inspiration for the name. Early Christian teachings said women needed to be subordinate to men (even during sex), and that other positions were sinful and unclean. Ancient missionaries taught this position as the only and proper way to have sex. The early Greeks, Romans, Peruvians, Indians, Chinese, and Japanese also associated this position with the dominant status of men over women in their societies. Fortunately, people are now more open and creative than this.

Despite its heterosexual connotations, the missionary position can also be used by lesbian and gay couples. Lesbians can use their bodies, fingers, sex toys, and other pleasurable items on a woman's clitoris, while one partner is on top of the other. Some couples also have anal sex in this position.

While some men find the missionary position satisfying, possibly because they feel in control, it seems like "the right way," and/or because they believe they're less likely to lose their erection, some women find that penetration while in this position doesn't rub or press their clitoris (the hot button of their pleasure) directly or sufficiently to trigger orgasm. In this case, a partner or a woman herself can touch, rub, and/or press her love button during missionary position sex as a way to make the position more pleasing to both.

Wow, the contrast is very nice!
Great shot, looks good =)

i really love your shots, i think you have a great talent and great imagination, but i really don't see the point in writing encyclopedia values about every subject you shoot. your art is good enough to speak for itself, and sometimes the text is really not connected to the image.

when a picture makes me feel a lot and then i read a whole essay about it's ancient history, it makes me feel like i got it wrong by finding emotional strength in it.

well, it could be just me.
i really appreciate your works anyway.

I love the way you create "Art" with very simple objects!!

I, on the other hand, love random pieces of knowledge. I always look forward to seeing your deviations in my devwatch because not only do I know I'll see great art, but I shall also learn something in the process.

I hope you won't take others' opinions too close to your heart and will continue doing what you please, it's your work and your commentary - which doesn't necessarily limit the experience of the art, or does so only to those with feeble imaginations.

Great job, as always =)

I disagree.
Photos are great, and so are the titles.
Those descriptions help to understand the way of author's thinking. I think, they're better than "..." or similar.
Nobody is forced to read them all. I simply like them.

to a certain point yes...I love what ahermin does, I admire his knowledge as well...i agree that giving a title and "some "words with it helps the viewer to follow the artist thoughts....but in his case it is often way too long and too academic....but yes I am a fan of his photos , because they are absolutely perfect, with plenty of originality, i love the abstractions he does....
